The Andes mountain range of Peru has long been a sought after destination for advanced trekkers. More recently the newly discovered Rainbow Mountain has exploded in popularity as
a sight that must not be missed when travelling in this area.
Having started with the idea to be the first to photograph mountain bikes on the iconic Rainbow Mountain, we had no idea what we signed up for!
Follow us all the way up to 17,000 feet on our journey to find the rainbow as we summit peak after peak of far out, mesmerizing alpine terrain.
Having spent the last decade in Whistler, BC, Michael Sousa continues to explore and develop the art of filmmaking among the incredible ability of Whistler's local athletes.
Founder of a video mountain bike mini series dubbed Shegnarnigans, Michael quickly crossed paths with Whistler media greats, Mike Gamble and Justa Jeskova among others.
Over time new and exciting projects took form. Teamed up with Justa, Gamble, Steve Storey and others, travel to lesser biked destinations became the main focus of the latest films.
This film illustrates the journey to Rainbow mountain in the Peruvian Andes.
This latest film is Sousa’s debut as a sole producer since working with Steve and Justa.
