Join local filmmaker Levi Allen for this interactive, virtual workshop: How to Make Incredible Films from Your Own Adventures. Levi runs the Adventure Film Academy and will be live on the VIMFF’s virtual platform to help equip aspiring filmmakers with the inspiration and practical knowledge they need to tell better stories.

Learning how to make videos on your own experiences is a fantastic way to get into filmmaking. However, what gear to use and all the technical jargon can often be overwhelming. In this workshop Levi will walk attendees through a step by step process to step up your filmmaking skillset. How do we make cinematic films on a budget with simple gear while filming ourselves? That’s what Levi will help you answer. And most importantly, what’s the best approach to actually telling a good story when the subject matter is yourself or your friends.

Levi Allen

Based in British Columbia, Levi Allen wants to help aspiring story tellers have the tools and skills to make films they can actually be proud of. His work is best showcased through his debut film Untethered, and also through the regular uploads to his YouTube channel where he challenges himself on self filmed solo adventures. He created the Adventure Film Academy to help equip aspiring filmmakers with the inspiration and practical experience they need to tell better stories.

  • Tickets sales close on March 15 at 11:59pm (PDT) and you will have until March 27 at 11:59pm (PDT) to view the shows.
  • For those experiencing hardship due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have created a discount code to reduce the price of the film pass by $10, a single show ticket by $4 and a feature film ticket / workshop by $2. Apply the coupon code, COVID at checkout to receive this discount.

INSTRUCTIONS

The billing information below will be used to assign your access to the VIMFF Online Portal where you will be able to login and watch the films when the Festival starts on February 25, 2022. If you haven’t created a login before, you will receive your invitation soon after purchase.

GIFTING INSTRUCTIONS

You selected the option to give this pass as a gift. Please add your gift recipient’s name and email below. This will ensure that they receive an invitation to join our VIMFF Online Portal where they will be able to watch the films when the Festival starts on February 25, 2022. We will send their invitation in late January, 2022, when we launch our Festival Program.
