Workshop Description
Digging Deep: An Avalanche Awareness Workshop
Familiarity, Consistency, Acceptance, the Expert Halo, Scarcity, and Social Facilitation have been identified as part of the human factor involved in recreational avalanche accidents, close calls, and near misses. By learning to identify, recognize and understand these behaviors in ourselves and the people around us, we can make safer decisions in avalanche terrain.
Jen will be sharing personal stories, lessons learnt and three case studies for the audience to participate in that come from 20 years of experience in the field. Join in for a good time and in hopes that you catch yourself before making a fatal error in judgement.
