Workshop Description

A Grand Journey in a Small Boat: Fundamentals of Expedition Planning with Susan Conrad

In the closets of many people’s minds, a grand adventure gathers dust. Here’s one that is actually possible—a small boat journey along British Columbia’s & Alaska’s Inside Passage. Learn about the practical aspects of planning and preparing for a multi-day kayaking adventure. Although specific to sea kayaking the Inside Passage, the principles of adventure planning will apply to any destination, conveyance, or time frame. Topics may include but are not limited to food, fitness, gear, route finding, logistics, resupply issues, camping, weather, and safety.

Rogue Vision: Turning your expedition dreams into reality with Frank Wolf & Kevin Vallely

Kevin Vallely and Frank Wolf bring together almost three decades of expedition know-how in this interactive talk that will give you insight and inspiration to make your dream expedition a reality. Come prepared to discuss that big outdoor journey or mission that you’ve always wanted to do but couldn’t get off the ground, with like-minded visionaries who’ll give you the boost you need to make it happen. Notebook/note-taking device recommended!
