Jakob Schubert is one of the most accomplished and consistent climbers in the history of the sport. Born and raised in Innsbruck, Austria — a hub of European climbing — he began climbing at the age of twelve and quickly rose through the youth competition circuit to become a dominant force on the world stage.
Over the past decade, Schubert has secured an extraordinary record of success, including four IFSC World Championship titles (2012, 2018, 2021, 2023), three overall Lead World Cup titles, and Olympic bronze medals at both Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024. Known for his precision, endurance, and composure under pressure, he continues to be one of the sport’s most formidable competitors.
Beyond competition, Jakob is equally committed to pushing his limits outdoors. His ascents include some of the hardest routes on earth, such as Perfecto Mundo (9b+), Supreme Jumbo Love (9b+), and most recently B.I.G. (9c), placing him among the elite few to climb at that level. His balance of athletic mastery, humility, and deep respect for climbing’s community and culture have made him a role model for the next generation of climbers worldwide.
