How do you become one of the best climbers in the world? Julia Chanourdie was twelve years old when she climbed the 8th degree bar. Today, at the age of 24, she is one of a few women to have reached 9b, the equivalent of the maximum level in climbing. An accomplished athlete since her teenage years, Julia was first introduced to climbing by her father, a passionate climber who has remained her coach.
For the past three years, Julia has been climbing incessantly and qualified for the Tokyo Olympics. She has become the incredible climber that her father never doubted. This is the story of Julia’s passion, a story between a father and his gifted daughter.

Jocelyn Chavy likes to tell stories through words and still photography, and now through video. Jocelyn is a 44 year old, French citizen who has written stories for most of the mountaineering magazines in France. Jocelyn has been managing Alpine Mag, the best online European mountain magazine, in French and English as Editor and Associate Manager since 2018. With his camera, Jocelyn has climbed onto some wild edges including Yosemite’s El Capitan twice and survived various Nepali Dal Bhats while exploring the former Himalayan kingdom, extensively.
