The Present - an epic 18,000 kilometer (11.200 mi) ride for Huntington's disease from Mexico to Patagonia.

Follow Dimitri Poffé, a 34-year-old French traveler who left his native France to undertake a cycling trip from Mexico City to Ushuaia after he tested positive for Huntington's disease. With no previous bike packing experience, he is pushed by a constant need to live what life he has, while he still can.

Friday Film Feature - Une Belle Trace (A Beautiful Line)

In July 2022, mountain guides Frederic Degoulet and Benjamin Ribeyre set out to attempt a mountaineering first - to complete a circumnavigation of the Mer de Glace via some of the most emblematic peaks in the Mont Blanc range.

The obvious line on the map had not yet been completed, even though it contours one of the busiest mountain ranges in the world.

After an abandoned attempt in 2021, the journey turned into a race against time and temperature for the pair, with record temperatures across the Alps.

Join the VIMFF team!

We're looking for a Junior Digital Marketing Specialist to join our small team of stoked mountain creatives.

This role will manage the VIMFF marketing channels for all VIMFF events throughout the year. This includes creating and executing a social media strategy that aligns with overarching goals and messaging, finding opportunities to engage with and highlight the community, leveraging partnerships to grow our channel and build upon and refine the organization’s existing social media practices and processes.

Friday Film Feature: Aiguille Du Midi Operation Electric Avenue

Right next to the Aiguille du Midi peak, situated in a sea of mountains at an altitude of 3842m, stands proudly the legendary 50m high granite monolith Gendarme des Cosmiques.

For the past 30 years it hosted only 2 climbing routes, Digital Crack (8a) and Arête des Cosmiques (8a), but this changed on the 10th of August, 2022!

VIMFF is excited to announce the addition of Ivan

VIMFF is excited to announce the addition of Ivan Hughes as our new Director of Programming. Ivan has been a documentary filmmaker for more than 20 years, his film In the Shadow of the Chief won Best Film at VIMFF in 2003 and he previously worked with the festival from 2004 -2010. He will be responsible for facilitating film selection, programming events, organizing guest speakers and presenters, grant programs and special programming throughout the year. Please join us in welcoming Ivan back to the team!

Got a story to share? Now accepting film submissions for our 2024 Fall Series.

Our Fall Series, taking place in November, is a hybrid festival of in-person events and virtual programs offered online for streaming. We'll host film screenings, speakers, presentations, and events to celebrate mountain culture and connect with the community.

All films selected will compete for our Annual Film Awards and will also enjoy a share of the revenues from our virtual programming.

Preference will be given to those films not already available online for free.
