This film is an ode to the often over-looked device that enabled a sport and still acts as a central pillar of ski culture to this day. Directed by Michael Douglas, it shares the stories about the access it offers and connections forged while passing the time back to the top of the lift.

After a successful career as a professional skier, Mike Douglas was looking for a new challenge and founded Switchback Entertainment in 2004. Based in Whistler, BC, and focusing on bringing storytelling to the outdoor sports world, Mike and the team at Switchback have inspired people all over the world with their work. Back in 2006, Mike worked with the brand Salomon to create one of the first sports web series – Salomon Freeski TV. Now in it’s 10th season, Salomon Freeski TV (now Salomon TV) is one of the most successful web series on the internet. Mike has also produced and directed several award-winning films including The Freedom Chair (2011), Tempting Fear (2013), Snowman (2015), and Eclipse (2015).
