Two World Premiere Ski Films Added To The 2017 Fall Series Program

VIMFF is excited to announce the addition of two World Premiere Ski films by Director Ben Sturgulewski to the Ski Show 2 on Thursday, November 9th. His projects bring a unique and critical cinematic perspective to action sports, documentary, narrative, and commercial pursuits, and have won dozens of awards for cinematography, editing, and storytelling. His new films, Apex Predators and Song For The Nomad, are nothing short of a cinematic experience and we are excited to be the first to premiere them for the VIMFF community.

Apex Predators

A tranquil day of ice fishing goes suddenly awry when natural selection rears its ferocious head. Something lurks in the depths of the great lonesome mountains of the North– a land where if you are not the predator, you WILL be the prey. But four skiers will not go down without a fight.

Song For The Nomad

Kyrgyzstan’s capital city, Bishkek, is a modern whirlwind of sight and sound. But in a concert hall in the heart of the city, the keys of a lone piano carry out of the chaos and into the timeless Celestial Mountains beyond. Into a world of horsemen and shamans, and young souls brought to life in the heart of nature. A tale of two worlds, together they play the song of the nomad– a requiem for a time gone by.
