Breaking Waves follows the life of Kelda Wood, a British adaptive adventurer, who was the first para-athlete to row solo across the Atlantic Ocean, first female para-athlete to climb Mt Aconcagua (tallest peak in South America), and leader of the UK-based charity Climbing Out, which takes people who have experienced a life-changing diagnosis, injury or trauma on outdoor wilderness treks to help rebuild their self-confidence. Her story is one of resilience and empowerment for all to take inspiration from and incorporate into our own lives.
An award-winning writer and director with experience in both fictional development and adventure filmmaking, She has been working in the US & UK TV industry for the past 9 years. She has developed projects with Blumhouse, RSA Films, Pulse Films, Antoncorp, RAW TV, Box To Box, Arrow Media and many more, and she has pitched to clients such as AMC, Netflix, Discovery, Nat Geo, Disney etc. She was in the writers’ room of AMC’s GANGS OF LONDON S2; one of her original series has been optioned by ELEVEN (Sex Education), and she has been commissioned to pen a feature script by Good Gate Media. She is currently development producer on a biopic show with New Regency. Alice is represented by LA-based Level4Films (management) and Innovative Artists (agency.) Her original series “Real Eden” was a finalist of the Sundance Episodic Lab and her projects won her participation at the BANFF Film Festival 2019 in Canada, the BAFTA Guru Labs 2017 and the New Horizon Development Lab 2018 at the Polish Film Festival.
