Odyssey of Loppa follows two Norwegian athletes, Thea and Lisen, on an epic four day ski-touring adventure in Loppa, an Arctic peninsula far north in Norway. They set out on an undiscovered route passing by fjords and mountainpasses whilst camping along the way.
The film is an ode to a relatively undiscovered area where few people skitour. It’s an ambitious skitour where the women have to navigate challenging avalanche terrain, steep colouirs and difficult route findings in whilst navigating cold temperatures day and night.
Anders Vestergaard is a talented outdoor photographer who captures stunning photos. Odyssey of Loppa is his first film, and he functioned as a photographer and filmer during the trip.
Lisen Strøm is a freeskier from Norway, and was the instigator of Odyssey of Loppa. She has featured in short films in Norway the last couple of years, including her own film “Bergtatt”.
