An unlikely trio is lured to a remote river in the wilderness of the Russian Far East in search of a mythical 55-kilogram (120-pound) trout. The adventurers — a billionaire Russian businessman, an American fly fisherman, and a Russian scientist — must join forces to unlock the river’s secrets in order to save it.

Andy Maser is a 3 time Emmy Award winning director and cinematographer with 18 years’ experience filming in the world’s most challenging and remote locations. Most recently he shot the IMAX nature documentary Great Bear Rainforest (2019), where he spent 120 days living and shooting by boat on BC’s northern coast. That film recently won “Best Cinematography” at the annual Giant Screen Awards, beating out blockbusters including First Man and The Avengers, and is currently playing in theaters worldwide.
Andy also regularly directs commercials for major international brands including US Bank, AXA, Samsung, Subaru, Toyota, Adidas, Purina, Facebook and Nestle, among others. He has also worked with the World Wildlife Fund, American Rivers, Western Rivers Conservancy and SeaLegacy to tell compelling, high production value environmental stories. His documentary background means that he brings a nuanced, refined sense of character and story to commercial work.
He recently shot the feature documentary, The Weight of Water (2019), which has won nine film festival audience and grand jury awards since its release. He has also filmed more than 20 hours of television for National Geographic, CNN, HBO, and Travel Channel.
