Cameron Maier completed a Director’s Workshop/Accelerator in 2021 with the great Werner Herzog, which was one of the most impactful moments of his directing career. Shortly after, Cameron completed a photography workshop with Thomas Albdorf. His German heritage shines through in his creative inspirations.
Cameron loves directing films, advertisements, and short brand stories that flex the hardest on the creative brief or script/story. He’s discovered there is plenty of leftover strength that passes through the writer’s pen to the cameraman’s legs on location.
He also loves taking photographs that deliver the goods for a brand or story, or get as close to a yet-unseen or unimagined image as possible.
As Werner says:
“There are deeper strata of truth in cinema, and there is such a thing as poetic, ecstatic truth. It is mysterious and elusive, and can be reached only through fabrication and imagination and stylization.”
