Growing up in the shadow of the Cascade Mountains, adventure and athletics were always at the foreground of Jesse’s life. While attending the University of Washington, he was introduced to climbing amidst a difficult pursuit of school and the demanding practice schedule of the university’s varsity rowing program. In the same way that he approached the rigors and routine of a full-time collegiate athlete, his training and passion to push himself segued into his pursuit as a climber. He has spent the last 25 years climbing around the world making notable ascents in Alaska, Patagonia, the Alps, and recently the Karakorum. Jesse resides in Boulder, Colorado, where he splits his time as a climber and running a small land surveying business.
