Kenny Hamlett is DP and Director. He picked up a camera in 2017 because he was sad and unfulfilled with the direction my life had taken. He instantly fell in love with the idea of documenting the world the way that he sees it and hasn’t looked back. He is passionate about sharing stories that he can relate to, those from marginalized communities featuring people like those he grew up with. The transition from photography to documentary film followed that urge to share stories that matter from underrepresented communities. Kenny has worked with international clients including Four Seasons, Fuji Film, Clif Bar, Marmot, and others. He has completely dedicated his life to telling stories that matter and that might not have been told otherwise; with the intention of healing himself and hopefully others as a byproduct.

A dialogue led by Mike Schauch with three stars from the films playing this evening. Joining Mike on stage will be Kenny X Hamlett from Black People Don’t Do That: Kenny X Hamlett, Jamie MoCrazy from #MoCrazyStrong, and Dave Gu from On Fire in Ice. Mike and guests will take a deeper dive into their physical, psychological, and emotional journeys and how they ultimately transformed their deepest hurt into their greatest wisdom. There will be an audience Q&A during the discussion.
