Join outdoor writer Taryn Eyton as she gives you a peek behind the scenes of what it’s like to write a backpacking guidebook. Hear stories of her adventures (and misadventures!) while researching hikes in southwestern British Columbia and on Vancouver Island. As a long-time volunteer with Leave No Trace Canada, Taryn will also discuss the intersection of wilderness ethics, gatekeeping, and outdoor writing and answer the question “How do we protect the wild places we love while making them accessible to hikers and backpackers?”
