Taryn Eyton is a Squamish-based hiking and adventure travel writer. Her website, HappiestOutdoors.ca, receives over 1.5 million visitors per year. Her book, Backpacking in Southwestern British Columbia: The Essential Guide to Overnight Hiking Trails (Greystone Books, 2021) was on the BC Bestseller’s list for over 20 weeks. Her second book, Backpacking on Vancouver Island: The Essential Guide to the Best Multi-Day Trips and Day Hikes, will be released on April 2, 2024. She is also a certified Leave No Trace Master Educator, the President of the Friends of Garibaldi Park Society, a member of the Board of Directors of the Vancouver International Mountain Film Festival, and a Fellow of the Canadian Geographic Society.
