Tendi is a powerful short documentary following the life of Mountain Guide, Tendi Sherpa, who’s summited Everest 18 times. It recounts his extraordinary journey from growing up in a remote, rural village in Eastern Nepal to becoming a mountain porter at just age 13, and the challenges and opportunities he has overcome since.
The film offers a raw, personal perspective on the world’s highest peaks, including Tendi’s reflection on the devastating loss of 38 close friends and members of the climbing community in the 2014 and 2015 Everest avalanches. The documentary is an exploration of resilience, profound loss, and the essential values of compassion and peace in surviving the high-stakes environment of the Himalayas.
