Home > Fall Series 2025 > Faisal Al Rifai
From an early age, Faisal has been captivated by the outdoors and the energy of extreme sports. A camera gifted by his mother at 14 sparked a lifelong passion for photography, leading him to spend countless hours capturing the natural world. At 24, he trained as a safari guide in South Africa, documenting wildlife and landscapes through his lens.
Five years ago, Faisal discovered climbing, which opened the door to filmmaking. With a friend, he co-produced a one-hour climbing film set in the dramatic sandstone landscapes of Wadi Rum. Now, as a climber developing new bouldering areas in Jordan, he continues to combine nature cinematography, extreme sports, and adventure storytelling to inspire others to explore the outdoors.
Following Kingdom of Treasures, join climber and developer Faisal Al Rifai as he shares stories from Jordan’s emerging bouldering scene. From opening new lines in Wadi Rum to uncovering hidden gems near the Dead Sea, Faisal reflects on the challenges and rewards of developing new climbing areas, and the deep connections between culture, history, and landscape that shape his journey.
